About me...
I am a visual artist and illustrator. But if you ask me, I will probably answer you that I am a painter. I am also university professor of illustration and design. In the past, I worked as a bookseller, anonymous comic book critic, and (fortunately) short-lived accountant.
Curious by nature, I am always experimenting and studying different techniques and styles to apply them to my work, so it is so versatile and varied.
I am thorough in my analysis and preparation for each project, seeking compositions in which the following prevail: careful drawing, expressive use of color, and continuous narrative play games.
I have been fortunate to have received awards and distinctions in various competitions and contests, such as the Valencia Crea National Comic Award, the AlNorte Scholarship, the Daniel Martínez Pedrayes National Drawing Award, the Graphic Novel Award from the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, and the Young Artist Revelation Award from the Principality of Asturias, among others.
Some of the places where I have exhibited are: Arancha Osoro Gallery (Oviedo), Bertrand Forum (Barcelona), Casa de Vacas de El Retiro (Madrid), Barjola Museum (Gijón), Puxa Gallery (Madrid), La Naves (Valencia), Antonio López Torres Museum (Tomelloso), Els 4 Gats (Barcelona), Gregorio Prieto Museum (Valdepeñas), José Cardín Foundation (Villaviciosa), and Revillagigedo Palace (Gijón), among other places.
As an illustrator, my clients have included: the University of Oviedo, the Gijón Chamber of Commerce, Gijón City Council, the Vocento Group, Cartonajes Vir, La Voz de Asturias, El Corte Inglés Interiorismo, and Sílex Ediciones, among others.
